The Reseller’s Toolkit: The Tools I Use or Have Reviewed to Source, Fund & Sell Inventory

FTC Disclosure: This page contains affiliate links. If you sign up through my links, I earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Where I haven’t used a service myself, I say so — I have not used Kaydem Credit Help. These are my honest assessments—no sugarcoating.

Deal Sourcing: Where the Inventory Comes From

Deal Soldier

What it does: Deal Soldier scans major retailers (Home Depot, Lowe’s, Amazon, Walmart) for price errors, clearance glitches, and hidden discounts on tools, outdoor gear, and home improvement items. You get alerts via Discord or browser extension.

Cost: $44/month

Honest assessment: Over 87 days (30 April–2 August 2026) we logged 28,773 Deal Soldier posts and scored them against eBay sold comps: 140 cleared our buy bar of at least 40% margin and $10 net — 1.66% of the posts we could price. Of the qualifying alerts we logged across all monitored communities, only 5 were power tools. The interface is ugly and the Discord can get noisy. Full Deal Soldier review.

Who it’s for: Resellers who want scalable online arbitrage without driving to estate sales. You need capital ready—good deals sell out in 15 minutes. Not for beginners with under $2K to spend.

Profit Lounge

What it does: Profit Lounge covers broader categories—electronics, home goods, toys, seasonal items—plus some retail arbitrage leads. They also have liquidation pallet sourcing and wholesale connections.

Cost: Not confirmed — check Profit Lounge’s current price before joining.

Honest assessment: Broader than Deal Soldier and aimed mostly at Amazon sellers: roughly two thirds of the Profit Lounge posts we logged were FBA or Amazon-business channels. Over the same 87 days we scored 44,289 Profit Lounge posts; 196 of the 9,053 we could price cleared our buy bar — 2.17%, slightly higher than Deal Soldier. Full Profit Lounge review.

Who it’s for: Amazon FBA sellers, or resellers seriously planning FBA. If you sell general merchandise on eBay, Deal Soldier’s broader feed is the closer fit.

Funding: How I Buy Without Tying Up Cash

Fund and Grow

What it does: Fund and Grow helps you apply strategically for multiple unsecured business credit cards with 0% introductory APR, typically for 12 to 18 months. These are business cards, not credit lines or loans.

Cost: We paid $2,995 for the year. Get a current quote.

Honest assessment: Our own rounds through Fund and Grow, each a separate batch of 0% intro business cards: May 2024 — $109,000 (we used it to build a house, and cleared the balances inside the 0% window); May 2025 — $74,000; March 2026 — $60,000. The 0% terms only help if balances are paid off before the intro period ends. Full Fund and Grow review.

The catch: you need decent personal credit (680+) going in. They don’t repair credit—they optimize how lenders see you. The process takes 45-60 days. Customer service is responsive but salesy.

Who it’s for: Resellers with proven flip models who are capital-constrained, not cash-constrained. If you’re still learning what sells, don’t spend $3K on funding. If you know your numbers and need inventory money without sacrificing equity, this works.

Kaydem Credit

What it does: Kaydem Credit repairs and rebuilds personal credit after you’ve utilized Fund and Grow funding (which temporarily dings your credit with multiple inquiries). They dispute negative items, optimize credit utilization reporting, and rebuild your profile for round 2 funding.

Cost: Not confirmed — get a written quote before you pay.

Honest assessment: We have not used Kaydem ourselves. Our full review covers what we could and could not verify — read it before you pay for credit repair.

Who it’s for: Resellers who used Fund and Grow, cycled the capital successfully, and want to go back for larger credit lines. Also works if you have legitimate errors on your credit report from before reselling.

Sales Platforms: Where the Money Comes In

eBay

What it does: eBay is my primary selling platform—auctions, Buy It Now, and Best Offer. Global reach, established buyer trust, and the only platform where used tools sell at true market value.

Cost: 13.25% final value fee + $0.30 per order + store subscription ($21.95-$299.95/month depending on volume)

Honest assessment: Fees hurt. A $300 tool sale nets me ~$255 after everything. But nothing else comes close for used tools and powersports parts. The “eBay standard envelope” for small parts saves me $2-3 per shipment versus USPS First Class.

Their promoted listings (ad rate) is necessary now—budget 5-8% additional for visibility. Returns happen, but eBay’s return process is manageable.

Who it’s for: Every serious reseller. If you’re not on eBay, you’re leaving money on specialty items.

Facebook Marketplace

What it does: Local sales, cash or Venmo, no shipping. I use it for bulky items (generators, pressure washers, mowers) where shipping would eat 30% of profit.

Cost: Free for most listings; 5% fee ($0.40 minimum) for items shipped through Marketplace

Honest assessment: The “no fees” thing is mostly true for local cash sales. The buyer pool is smaller and more price-sensitive than eBay. I get 40% lowball offers. But for items over 50 lbs, the shipping savings make up for lower prices.

Safety matters—meet at police stations or busy retail lots.

Who it’s for: Resellers with trucks or trailers who can handle local pickup. Essential for lawn equipment, large tool chests, and anything over 75 lbs.

Custom Tech: My Competitive Edge

AI Deal Bot (Custom-Built)

What it does: I built this internally. It scrapes auction listings, estate sale photos, and liquidation manifests, then scores deals on: estimated sale price (eBay solds), condition risk, shipping cost, and days to sell. Outputs a “buy/don’t buy” recommendation with confidence score.

Cost: My time + OpenAI API costs (~$200/month) + developer maintenance

Honest assessment: This is my moat. It doesn’t replace judgment—I override it 30% of the time—but it prevents stupid buys when I’m tired or rushed. The estate sale photo analysis (identifying tool brands from blurry iPhone pics) alone saves me 5 hours weekly.

Not available for sale. Mentioning it because readers always ask how I evaluate so much inventory fast.

Who it’s for: Me. If you have technical skills, building similar tools is worth the investment. If not, Deal Soldier + manual eBay solds research gets you 80% there.

The Honest Math: What I Spend Monthly

Tool Monthly Cost Annual Cost
Deal Soldier $44 $528
Profit Lounge Not confirmed Not confirmed
eBay Store $60 $720
AI Deal Bot (API) $200 $2,400
Total Software (excl. Profit Lounge) $304 $3,648

Fund and Grow is a separate annual fee (see above), not included in this table.

Which Tools Should You Start With?

Under $5K total capital: eBay (free to start) + Deal Soldier (month-to-month). Skip everything else. Drive to estate sales and auctions yourself.

$5K-$20K capital: Add Fund and Grow if your credit qualifies. The funding multiplier beats any sourcing tool.

$20K+ capital: Profit Lounge if you sell on Amazon. Credit repair (such as Kaydem) only after reading our review — we have not used it.

Questions I Get Asked

Do I need all these tools to succeed?

No. I started with eBay, a truck, and Craigslist. These tools speed up what works—they don’t create success from nothing.

Is Fund and Grow worth $3,000?

Only if you have a proven flip and need capital. If you’re still figuring out what sells, that $3K buys a lot of inventory to test with.

Why not just use free deal groups on Facebook?

I do. They’re slower, noisier, and the best deals are picked over in 2 minutes. Paid tools aren’t mandatory—they’re time arbitrage.
